The Aleut single is a solo, performance oriented design based on an Aleut kayak
collected at Atka Island, Alaska in 1934. The singles are suitable for paddlers in
the 100 to 200 lbs and sufficient gear for weekend trips.

The single is available in two sizes:

17' long, 21" wide and weighs as little as 35 lbs depending on fiberglass layup
appropriate for your particular usage.

18' long, 23" wide and weighs as little as 40 lbs, again depending on fiberglass
layup appropriate for your particular usage.

Special thanks to
David Zimmerly for his outstanding work of cataloging the
beautiful examples of native designs.
Kayaks pulled up for the night near Little Tybee
Island in Georgia.
The Aleut singles have loads of room for gear and a
fast hull, making them ideal for kayak-camping.
